Flight MH8110, with 278 M'sian haj pilgrims aboard, lands in Oman due to technical issue, says Tabung Haji

MAKKAH: Flight KT051 (MH8110), carrying Malaysian haj pilgrims, made a precautionary landing at Muscat International Airport in Oman at 4.11pm local time Monday (May 4) following a technical issue involving the aircraft, Sinar Harian reports.

In a statement, the Pilgrims Fund Board (Tabung Haji, TH) said all 278 pilgrims were safe and their families need not worry, the Malay language daily reported.

According to the statement, the flight departed KL International Airport on Monday at 2.06pm Malaysia time and was scheduled to arrive in Jeddah at about 5.50pm the same day.

“AMAL by Malaysia Airlines will assess the aircraft before deciding on the next course of action for the flight.

“If necessary, all pilgrims will be accommodated at a hotel before continuing their journey to Jeddah,” the statement said.

TH added that further developments will be announced from time to time.
