GUA MUSANG: A pregnant Orang Asli woman had to be flown out from Pos Bihai to the Gua Musang Hospital after experiencing bleeding.

The Air Unit of the Fire and Rescue Department carried out a medical evacuation flight on Thursday to transport the 24-year-old woman who required urgent medical attention.

Northern Region Air Base (Puwu) public relations officer Abdul Azri Sazali said the woman from Kampung Tendrik is five-month pregnant.

He said the aircraft departed from Puwu in Bertam, Penang, at 3.20pm and arrived at Pos Bihai at 4.09pm.

The patient, accompanied by a relative, was then flown at 4.17pm aboard an AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter to the Gua Musang Fire and Rescue Station, Bernama reported.

She arrived safely at 4.29pm and was handed over to waiting medical personnel, who transported her by ambulance to Gua Musang Hospital.
