A DUTCH tourist suffered facial and leg injuries after being attacked by several stray dogs while holidaying in Langkawi, China Press reported.
A Facebook user, “Lsjco Coffee”, said the victim, known only as Rene from Amsterdam, was bitten twice, with wounds requiring multiple stitches.
Several local residents rushed to his aid and sent him to Hospital Sultanah Maliha.
The report did not say when the incident occurred, except that Rene returned to his home country yesterday, after a two-week stay on the island.
He later expressed gratitude to those who had helped him and praised the hospital staff for their professionalism and care.
“Lsjco Coffee” also urged the authorities to take the stray dog issue seriously in the interest of public safety as such incidents could affect Langkawi’s image and tourism development.

“It feels cooler than Kuala Lumpur and is a great place to relax and stay,” she said.
Sheh made a special effort to greet her fans, some of whom were from Singapore, knowing they had journeyed up to the highlands to meet her.
She was spotted signing autographs and taking group photos with fans.
Although the interaction lasted only five minutes, the gesture warmed the fans’ hearts.
