Negri PKR youth lambasts 14 Umno reps who withdrew support for MB

KLANG: Negri Sembilan PKR youth has lambasted the 14 Barisan Nasional assemblymen who withdrew support for the state administration under the leadership of Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

All 14 assemblymen are from Umno.

In a strongly worded statement Wednesday (April 29), Negri Sembilan PKR youth chief Mohamad Hamizan Mohd Bahtiar said the move would reignite the unhealthy "tebuk atap" (backdoor move) political culture which was much hated by the electorate.

"Attempts to shake the state government's stability at this point are irresponsible and clearly contradicts the people's interest," he said, adding the people wanted continued prosperity.

Mohamad Hamizan added that the state's administration had to remain based on the legitimate mandate given by the people in the last general election.

He reminded the assemblymen that the Negri Sembilan government functioned under the provisions granted by the state constitution, which must be respected by one and all.

He said any move of playing with numbers to bring down the existing leadership was a form of betrayal of the voters' trust.

"The people of Negri Sembilan need the full attention of their elected representatives, currently, to resolve economic issues and the cost of living, and not put up with endless political drama," he said.

Mohamad Hamizan added that stability was the key to the state's progress and any move that was not in line with the state's constitutional framework should not be acknowledged in order to maintain the rule of law.

"We urge all parties to stop this detrimental political experiment and return to focusing on helping the people.

"Do not let personal interests or small groups destroy the future of Negri Sembilan," he said.
