MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in several states until 9pm (April 28)


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 9pm on Tuesday (April 28).

In a statement at 5.15pm on Tuesday, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Perlis; Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim); Kelantan (Gua Musang); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran and Kuantan); Selangor (Klang); Negri Sembilan (Jempol); Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang and Pontian) and the Federal Territory of Labuan.

It also warned of bad weather in Sarawak affecting areas in Kuching and Limbang, as well as Bintulu and Miri involving Telang Usan and Marudi.

In Sabah, the areas affected are the interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort) and the west coast (Putatan).
