Rafizi prays for 'big bro' Aminuddin amid Negri political crisis

PETALING JAYA: Former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli says he is praying for his "brother" Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun as a political crisis unfolds in Negri Sembilan.

The Pandan MP denied having any knowledge on the events unfolding in the state, where 14 Barisan Nasional assemblymen withdrew support for Mentri Besar Aminuddin earlier on Monday (April 27).

"I don't know anything about what's happening in N9 (Negri Sembilan)," Rafizi wrote in a post on X.

"@dsaminuddin is like my brother, his wife is like a sister to my wife. I can only pray from afar like a younger sibling to his brother," he added, tagging Aminuddin.

"I managed to call him at 10+ this morning. Wanted to check on him. He laughed & was cheerful, said he had just visited two schools. He has four more schools to visit today, but stopped at a stall for a quick morning drink with his wife.

"I'm not worried because Tok Min is a good person. Far better than me," Rafizi continued.

He said he had known Aminuddin since the days he lived in a single-story terrace house and drove a Proton Exora.

Rafizi said Aminuddin’s demeanour has remained the same even after he rose to power.

"Even after being MB for years, his demeanour remains the same as when he still lived in that single-story terrace house," he said.

"Whatever happens, InsyaAllah it won't disturb Tok Min & Kak Wan's (Aminuddin's wife Datin Seri Wan Hasni Wan Yusof) thoughts. Everything has its wisdom.

"That's the advantage of someone who knows that rank and position are merely trusts on loan," he added.

The Barisan representatives said they had lost confidence in Aminuddin’s leadership over the handling of the state royal crisis.

Five Perikatan Nasional assemblymen have expressed their willingness to work with Barisan to ensure the continuity of the state government.

Pakatan Harapan has 17 seats in the 36-member legislative assembly.
