Lapier is believed to have fallen while descending Mount Santubong on Thursday (April 23) afternoon in the F7 section of the trail.

The incident was reported at 8.20pm, prompting the deployment of firefighters, forest rangers and police personnel to the mountainous area.

Forest rangers then managed to establish contact with her at around 5pm and began searching at her last known location.

Although they were able to hear her voice in the F7 area, they were unable to pinpoint her exact position.

The SAR continued on Friday until she was found.
