Sabah plans more programmes for women

KITA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said more education, entrepreneurship and leadership programmes are needed to support women in the state.

He made the statement after a courtesy call by the Sabah Women’s Advisory Council at Menara Kinabalu on Tuesday (April 21).

“I wanted more women involved in economic, education and leadership programmes run by the council,” said Hajiji.

During the meeting, council chairperson Datuk Dr Rosmawati Lasuki briefed Hajiji on the council’s work in education, entrepreneurship and leadership. She said one programme, Global Women @ Sabah, sought to identify women leaders and develop their skills.

Rosmawati also said the council would host the State Women’s Day celebration on Sept 9 this year.
