KUALA LUMPUR: A police officer attached to the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department has been injured after he was hit by a car that fled the scene.

Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred on April 10 along Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, Kuala Lumpur.

The police constable, identified as 27-year-old Kons Roslan Salleh, was on traffic control duty when an unidentified car hit him from behind.

"The car then sped off without stopping to assist the victim. The resulting collision led to injuries to the hand, head and rib areas.
