PJ toddler rescued after leg gets stuck in bathroom pipe


PETALING JAYA: A two-year-old boy had to be rescued after his leg became trapped in a bathroom pipe at a residence in Bandar Sri Damansara on Friday (April 10).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said firefighters received a distress call at 12.13pm and arrived at the scene about 10 minutes later.

"The incident occurred at a residential unit where the victim's leg was stuck in a pipe inside the bathroom," he said in a statement.

He added that firefighters used special equipment to cut the pipe and successfully freed the child.

"The victim was then handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further action," he said.

The operation was brought under control at 2.54pm and fully concluded at 2.58pm.

A total of five personnel from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station were involved in the operation.
