Reject caste culture, Malaysian Hindus urged

MALAYSIAN Hindus have been urged to reject the caste culture as it will destroy the community, says Malaysia Hindu Sangam president T. Ganesan, Malaysia Nanban reported.

He made the call during his speech at the association’s 60th anniversary celebration at the Kala Mandapam in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

The caste mentality continues being a blight in India and there are attempts to bring that form of segregation into this country.

He said the Indian and Hindu communities in Malaysia comprising Tamils, Telugus and Malayalis live in harmony together. They must not give in into attempts to divide them along caste lines.
