Wu Cai Xing, 67, has found “the one” in his 91-year-old bride.

The couple, both residents of an old folks’ home in Penang, tied the knot two weeks ago after a three-month courtship.

It is the first marriage for both. Wu had spent much of his life working as a furniture maker, while his wife, Hu Rui Rong, devoted her life to caring for her parents.

Wu spoke fondly of his wife, describing her as kind and attentive, often cooking and caring for him.

“From the day we met, we have never quarrelled. It is not easy to find the right person, so we cherish every day together,” he told China Press.

“The biggest difference is that there is now someone by my side, someone to share a table with, someone to talk to and to hold hands with during our walks.”

However, Wu had never said the three magical words.

That did not deter Hu, who said she could feel his love through his daily actions.

Upon hearing this, Wu shyly said “I love you” in Hokkien. The couple held hands, exchanged smiles, and looked at each other warmly.

> Sin Chew Daily reported that a man caused a scene at a matchmaking event after lying about his marital status when his wife suddenly appeared.

The incident, which occurred on April 1, involved a man from China’s Anhui province who introduced himself as a 51-year-old divorced man with two children at an event held at a cherry blossom garden in Bengbu city.

He also claimed to have been divorced for many years.

“I came for one of the women on the stage,” he said, expressing interest in one of the candidates.

That was when a woman claiming to be his wife came forward.

The couple got into a heated argument, which escalated into a scuffle, prompting the wife to call the police.

The event host later branded the man as a “scumbag”.

A worker from the garden said the man was subsequently escorted out by the organiser.
