Thunderstorms, heavy rain forecast across nine states until 5pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning, with heavy rain and strong winds expected across nine states until 5pm on Monday (March 30).

In a statement today, MetMalaysia said that the weather is expected in Kedah’s Baling and across multiple districts in Perak, including Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.

The warning also covers Pahang (Cameron Highlands and Bentong), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat), Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin), Melaka, and Johor (Muar and Tangkak).

In Sarawak, affected areas are Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Serian, Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro) and Kapit (Song and Belaga).

In Sabah, the warning covers the Interior (Beaufort and Nabawan) and the West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud).
