A SOCIAL media user in Pantai Remis, Perak, attracted both sympathy and ridicule for creating an obituary mourning their pet hamster, reported China Press.
According to the obituary, the hamster named Yang Xiu Ying, which died on Thursday, was beloved by family members.
The venue of the wake and cremation was also provided in the obituary.
The post was widely shared on social media to mixed reactions.
“When a pet dies, does the house automatically become a haunted house?” one person quipped.
Another Internet user questioned if the owner and their family would be dressed in mourning attire during the wake.
Most people, however, offered condolences to the owner for the loss of a beloved pet.
> Hong Kong actor and singer Bosco Wong has made it clear that he is no longer involved in music, saying that he will be focusing solely on his career in television and film, China Press reported.
The 45-year-old celebrity, who took part in a 5km race recently, was asked if he would be holding concerts in China in the future like many of his counterparts.
“I left the music scene a long time ago. Maybe in my next life,” he quipped, adding that he has turned down many offers.
Instead, Wong said he was focusing on his acting career and in film investment.
Recently, Wong put his money into his second film project in Malaysia.
With the slowdown in Hong Kong’s entertainment industry, he said he sees Malaysia as a place to explore new opportunities.
Wong has always been vocal about his fondness for Malaysia.
He is said to own four properties in the country worth over tens of millions in Hong Kong dollars.
