A FIRECRACKER trader can earn six-figure profits in just over a month during the festive period.

Sinar Harian reported that trader Mohamad Hafiz Omar, 27, from Guchil, Kelantan, said sales typically surged in the final week of Ramadan.

“Some customers spend up to RM4,000 in a single receipt buying various types of fireworks and firecrackers for the first night of Syawal,” he was quoted as saying.

> The daily also highlighted a woman who claimed her husband dropped her off most days near Masjid Kapitan Keling in Penang to beg for money.

“I have been doing this here for a long time,” said the woman known only as Yah.
