Early morning blaze destroys Putatan PPR unit, no casualties reported

KOTA KINABALU: A mother’s quick thinking saved the lives of her three young children when their home caught fire early on Monday (Mar 23) morning.

The blaze broke out around 6am in the family’s second-floor unit at Block C of the Sri Serigai Ketiau People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Putatan district.

Upon noticing the flames, the woman immediately carried her six-month-old baby and rushed her two other children, aged five and three, out of the burning house.

Her two nephews, both aged 13, also managed to escape safely

At the time, the victim’s husband was not at home as he had gone to a nearby laundry.
