Aidilfitri open house tradition continues to nurture unity and goodwill


KUALA LUMPUR: The Aidilfitri open house tradition continues to nurture the spirit of goodwill and unity, with joyous celebrations taking place across several states.

In SARAWAK, the public began arriving as early as 9am on Saturday (March 21), filling the grounds of the Astana Negeri in Kuching to attend the Aidilfitri open house hosted by Governor Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Guests from all walks of life, of different ages, races, and religions, gathered in a warm and lively atmosphere, enjoying a wide variety of festive dishes while taking the opportunity to mingle and exchange greetings with state leaders.

In JOHOR, people of various races flocked as early as 8 am to the Aidilfitri open house hosted by Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi in Saujana, Johor Baru.

Visitors were treated to an array of traditional and modern delicacies, including ketupat, lemang, rendang, soto, and mee rebus, along with assorted festive cookies and both hot and cold beverages, adding to the cheerful and harmonious spirit of the celebration.

In NEGRI SEMBILAN, Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir and Tunku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud attended the Aidilfitri open house held at Istana Besar Seri Menanti in Kuala Pilah.

Also present were Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and members of the state executive council.

The celebration was enlivened with a wide spread of traditional delicacies, while visitors also took the opportunity to capture special moments in the palace grounds, creating fond memories in a joyful and harmonious Aidilfitri atmosphere.

Meanwhile, in PERLIS, about 8,000 guests attended the Aidilfitri Celebration @ Istana Arau, which is being held in a lively and warm atmosphere filled with goodwill.

The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, spent time with guests and presented duit raya, accompanied by the Raja Perempuan of Perlis, Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid, as well as members of the royal family.

The celebration was enlivened with a variety of traditional delicacies, while guests described the event as a meaningful experience that strengthened the bond between the people and the royal institution.

One of the guests, Mohd Faizal Ahmad, 35, from Kangar, said he was excited to attend with his family as it gave them the opportunity to experience the unique and memorable atmosphere of an open house at the palace.– Bernama
