A MAN claiming to be a police officer sparked outrage for allegedly using a departmental system to obtain a woman’s phone number for personal reasons, Kosmo! reported.
Quoting a viral post, the report stated that the incident occurred after the woman’s husband sent their car for servicing, when she was sent a WhatsApp message from the man.
She claimed the man admitted to accessing her vehicle details via the Mobile Card Acceptance Device (MCAD) system, saying he reached out after seeing her photo and even asked about her marital status.
Netizens condemned the act as a serious invasion of privacy and urged the woman to lodge a formal complaint, regardless of whether he really is a police officer.
> A man lost his cool after discovering that his wife had been detained for close proximity with another man at a house in Krubong, Melaka, on Sunday morning, Sinar Harian reported.
A one-minute video shared by the Melaka Islamic Religious Department (JAIM) enforcement unit showed an argument between the couple during the raid.
The department stated that the video was shared not to shame those involved, but to raise public awareness under one of its ongoing campaigns.
> The daily also reported that veteran actor Farid Amirul Hisham Wu Abdullah, known for his role as Detective Lim in the long-running series Gerak Khas, highlighted the harsh realities faced by some senior artistes in the local entertainment industry.
The 61-year-old said he was offered just RM500 for five days of filming involving 38 scenes to play a lion dance sifu for a production in Kuala Kangsar last year.
“I’m not a big star ... but be reasonable. RM500 for five days and 38 scenes is actually the rate for an extra,” he said, adding that he turned down the offer to protect industry standards.
