Senior citizen dies after car plunges into river in Jempol


 JEMPOL: An 84-year-old woman was killed after her car went off the road and plunged into a river near Batu Kikir.

Jempol OCPD Supt Norhisham Mustapar said police believe the victim lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a corner along the stretch at around 10.45am on Tuesday (March 10).

"The victim was heading home after buying some items from a feed store when she lost control of her car.

"She sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot," he said in a statement.

Supt Norhisham said the case is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged witnesses to contact investigating officer Mohd Amirul Syafiq Mohd Yusof at 016 234 8669 to assist in investigations.
