Cops confirm MPV in viral video belongs to Sg Buloh IPD, still probing incident

PETALING JAYA: Police have confirmed that a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) seen in a viral video belongs to the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters.

Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said police detected the 12-second video circulating on social media on Thursday (March 5) at about 7.50pm.

“The video shows the MPV driving through the middle of a row of shoplots before stopping at a mamak restaurant,” he said in a statement on Friday (March 6).

He added that a restaurant worker was seen approaching the vehicle and handing two white plastic packages to the driver.

Supt Mohd Hafiz said the matter is currently under investigation and strict action will be taken against any personnel found to be involved.

“The Sungai Buloh district police will not compromise with any officer or personnel who commits misconduct that could tarnish the image of the Royal Malaysia Police,” he said.

He also advised the public not to spread speculation or unfounded assumptions that could damage the reputation of the police.
