Section of Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway to close in stages for maintenance from March 2 to 10

GEORGE TOWN: A section of Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway will be closed in stages for maintenance works from 10pm to 5am between March 2 and 10.

The stretch, however, will remain open over the weekend on March 7 and 8.

In a statement, the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) said the closure is to facilitate expansion joint replacement works along the expressway.

“The appointed contractor, Fariq Naluri Enterprise, will carry out expansion joint replacement works on a section of Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway from March 2 to 5 and March 9 to 10.

“The phased closure of the road section will be implemented by the contractor and the works are expected to be completed within six days,” it said.

The council said further enquiries can be directed to Azlan Abd Hamid of MBPP at 04-259 2193 or 017-415 3752, or Fariq Kader of Fariq Naluri Enterprise at 016-402 8669.
