After previously performing in Penang in 2023, Ella returned to her home state for Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen Ella: Homecoming Edisi 60 Permata Biru, which concluded successfully to a sold-out crowd at Setia SPICE Arena recently.
Organised by Hitman Solutions and Rockqueen, the special concert was an evening filled with nostalgia, emotion, and appreciation. More than just a celebration of Ella’s return to Penang, the night also marked a meaningful birthday celebration shared with fans who have remained part of her musical journey over the years.
For Ella, Penang is more than just another concert destination. It is her birthplace and an important part of the story behind her long journey as an artist.
Following her 2023 performance in Penang, Jilid Akhir: Ella Puteri Kota, this return was presented on an even more special scale through the Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen brand, marking a new chapter for the concert series.
The sold-out success made the occasion even more memorable, with fans from Penang, the northern states, other parts of Malaysia, and even Sumatra, Indonesia travelling to experience the Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen show.
“Penang will always have a very special place in my heart because this is where I was born. So when we called this concert ‘Homecoming’, it truly meant coming back to where it all began.
“What made it even more special was being able to celebrate my birthday with the people who are close to me and those I love. Seeing the arena full tonight was such a meaningful gift for me. With Dato’ Ramli Sarip, Ziana Zain, and the entire Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen team here together, I feel this will be a memory that stays in all our hearts for a very long time,” said Ella.
The celebration began even before the concert, with Ella spending time marking her birthday with a selected group of ticket holders. The intimate moment was one of the most personal highlights of the event, reflecting the close relationship between Ella and the fans who have grown up with her music across generations.
Each song was met with a powerful singalong from across the arena, proving that Ella’s music continues to live on and remain close to fans of all generations.
One of the most warmly received moments of the night came with the appearance of Datuk Ramli Sarip, bringing together two important figures in the history of Malaysian rock music on one stage. Ramli performed “Istilah Bercinta” and “Teratai”, before joining Ella for an energetic performance of “Kembara Kita”.
The meeting of the two legends created one of the most memorable moments of the concert, with the entire arena responding enthusiastically to the collaboration.
Also taking the stage was Ziana Zain, who performed her iconic song “Madah Berhelah”, before joining Ella for a medley of “Senja Nan Merah” and “Nuri”.
The pairing of two female icons, each with their own distinctive identity and vocal strength, added another memorable moment to the evening, drawing an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Beyond the celebration, Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen Ella: Homecoming Edisi 60 Permata Biru continued the spirit of the “Peace.Love.Rindu” campaign, carrying the message that music can not only bring people together, but also create a platform to give back to society.
Through the initiative, RM2 from every ticket sold is channelled to one of three selected charitable organisations based on the ticket buyer’s choice. Contributions under “Peace” are channelled to Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM) Pulau Pinang, while “Love” supports Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) and “Rindu” supports Yayasan Kebajikan Artis Tanahair.
The initiative continues one of the key values behind Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen – bringing fans together through music while creating a positive impact for the community.
According to Rohit Rampal, CEO & Founder of Hitman Group, the sold-out success of the concert once again demonstrated the strength of Ella and Malaysian music in bringing together audiences from different generations.
“Ella is an important part of Malaysia’s music history. What we witnessed tonight was more than just a concert; it showed how local music continues to have the power to unite generations.
“Bringing Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen back to Penang, Ella’s birthplace, together with Ramli Sarip and Ziana Zain, and receiving such an incredible sold-out response from fans made this homecoming moment truly special,” he said.
Meanwhile, Keeran D, Head of Special Projects at Hitman Solutions, said that the growth of Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen has shown how a concert can evolve into an experience that belongs just as much to the fans.
“Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen is no longer simply a performance. It has grown into an experience that has become part of Ella’s fans as well," he said.
