Perak Bersatu to reshuffle several division affected by rift

PETALING JAYA: Perak Bersatu will conduct a reshuffle of several party divisions which were affected by the resignations and sackings of its leaders following a rift within the party.

State Bersatu information chief Datuk Azhar Anuar said the divisions involved were identified by the party’s special task force, including divisions where their heads were sacked by the top leadership.

He said the handing over of the appointment letters for the new division leaders will be done at the soonest possible date by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Every action taken will be taken according to the party’s constitution,” Azhar was quoted as saying in a report by Sinar Harian on Friday (Feb 27).

He expressed his appreciation to Bersatu members who remained loyal to the party and stepped up to shoulder responsibilities to strengthen the party at the division level.

Previously, there were news reports that the party’s Larut, Padang Rengas, Tapah and Gopeng divisions had announced their dissolution following the internal conflict that has plagued the party.

It was also reported that the Bersatu disciplinary board had expelled 17 party members, including four MPs and two state assemblymen, for alleged sabotage of the party.
