Perak cannot be developed through fiery emotions without direction, says MB at state-level CNY event

IPOH: Perak cannot be developed through fiery emotions without direction, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The Perak Mentri Besar said progress cannot emerge from a society consumed by anger.

“The future and development requires a community that strengthens one another, not one that weakens each other.

“The Year of the Fire Horse teaches us an important lesson: progress demands courage, but courage must be guided by wisdom,” he said in his speech during the state-level Chinese New Year celebration at Stadium Indera Mulia on Saturday (Feb 14).

"Change calls for speed, yet speed must be accompanied by maturity.

“We can be passionate, but that passion must be guided by prudence. We can be brave, but that bravery must be tempered with empathy and conscience," he added.

Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah graced the event, which was attended by about 15,000 people.

Joining Sultan Nazrin were Perak Raja Muda Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa and Raja Di Hilir Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

Also present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, Education Minister Fadzlina Sidek and Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Chang Lih Kang.
