Unemployed man nabbed in connection with woman's murder in Sentul


PETALING JAYA: Police have detained a man to assist in investigations into the murder of a woman who was found dead with head injuries early Monday (Feb 9).

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said police received a report on the incident at 8.02am on the same day.

He said the Sentul Control Centre was informed of a woman lying with heavy bleeding to the head in front of a school along Jalan Sentul.

According to him, the incident is believed to have occurred at about 7.20am.

“Police personnel who arrived at the scene found a woman believed to be between 50 and 60 years old lying on the ground in a pool of blood, with injuries to the head.

“The victim was found to have sustained a wound measuring about 4cm on the right side of the head above the ear, as well as swelling to the eyelid,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 10).

ACP Ahmad Sukarno said police will apply for a remand of the 46-year-old suspect, who is unemployed, on Feb 10 to facilitate further investigations.

“The victim’s identity has yet to be established, and the motive for the incident is still under investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
