3.27 million vehicles expected on highways during CNY rush

PETALING JAYA: Traffic volume on major highways is expected to rise as early as Feb 13, with about 3.27 million vehicles projected to use these routes during the Chinese New Year festive period.

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said the highest traffic volume was expected on PLUS highways, with an estimated 2.2 million vehicles.

Highway concessionaires have been instructed to ensure smooth toll operations and to avoid lane closures from Feb 12 to Feb 23, except for emergency works.

A total of 32 locations have also been identified for activating smart lanes as needed.
