KUALA LUMPUR: A drug dealer who distributed his wares around the clock has been busted after police seized hundreds of drug-laced bottled drinks during an operation in the city.

At a press conference yesterday, Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said that the raid was carried out on Jan 7 at a condominium carpark in Jalan Kuching here, where a 29-year-old man was arrested.

“Checks carried out in his two vehicles and two residences led to the discovery of several drug packing and processing equipment alongside other drug seizures worth around RM832,350.

“He tested negative for drugs and has no prior police record,” he said.

Among the drugs seized were 867.25kg of liquid MDMA worth RM701,850 and around 190 vape cartridges that were believed to have been laced with ketamine.

“Our intelligence revealed that the suspect played a key distribution role, functioning like a 24-hour mobile convenience store to ensure drugs were always available to buyers.”

Comm Fadil added that the dealer would use homes and apartments as processing and storage areas, and that he had been active in the illicit trade for around three months.

“He has been remanded for seven days until Jan 14 for further investigations,” he said.

In a related matter, Comm Fadil said that the contingent had seized over a billion ringgit worth of drugs in 2025.

“Based on the statistics, a total of 1,085,013kg of narcotics has been seized with an estimated value of RM1,105,880,738.

“The contingent’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department also arrested 20,540 suspects linked to 18,352 cases involving distribution, possession and drug usage.”

Of those arrested, 498 were found to be repeat drug users.
