Man nabbed with over 1kg of syabu in Temerloh


KUANTAN: Police arrested a 42-year-old man and seized more than 1kg of methamphetamine in a raid in Charuk Puting, Temerloh early Thursday (April 2).

Temerloh OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Nasyim Bahrun said in a statement on Friday (April 3) that the raid was carried out by a Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division team from district police headquarters at about 5am under Ops Tapis.

"We seized four pink plastic packets suspected to contain methamphetamine weighing 1,024.63g and seized a sports utility vehicle with an estimated total value of RM112,252.50," he said.

The suspect has several drug abuse offences on his criminal record, ACP Nasyim added.

"He has been remanded for five days at the Temerloh district lockup to assist in investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said.

ACP Nasyim urged anyone with information on drug activities to channel it to the police at 09-2716222 or via e-mail to kpdtemerloh@rmp.gov.my, or any nearby police station.
