A BURGLAR in India had to be rescued by the police after getting stuck in a vent located on the side of a house, Makkal Osai reported.

The unnamed man and a few accomplices apparently removed the ventilation fan of a house in Rajasthan and tried to get inside through it.

However, the man who went first got stuck in the vent and couldn’t get free.

His accomplices fled, abandoning him until the homeowners noticed a man dangling from their wall and contacted the police.

The police freed the man and promptly arrested him after he was stuck for about an hour.

> The daily also reported that the Mentakab Indian Association is providing free haircuts to Indian students in conjunction with the new school year.

Association coordinator M. Saravanan said they wanted to help ease the burden on poor families with children going back to school.

Parents can bring their kids to get haircuts at five barbershops in and around Mentakab town.

The service will run until Jan 15, he said.
