Penang listed as one of the best places to visit by CNN Travel


GEORGE TOWN: Penang has been recognised as one of the best places to visit this year by CNN Travel, along with 20 other destinations worldwide.

State tourism committee chairman Wong Hon Wai, in a social media post, praised Penang for the achievement.

Other destinations on the list include Adelaide, Algeria, Arusha in Tanzania, Aragon in Spain, Bahrain, Brussels, the Chilean fjords, Devon, Dominica, East Timor, Jamaica, Kanazawa, the Orkhon Valley in Mongolia, Oulu in Finland, Peñico, Peru, Philadelphia, Sail250, Santa Monica, and St. Pierre and Miquelon in France.

Penang was also listed among the 52 places to visit by the New York Times.

Penang Global Tourism, the state’s tourism board, said in a social media post: "Penang is the only destination in Malaysia to make the list."
