Loke presents the “Transport Innovator of the Year” award to the Penang Port Commission, accepted on its behalf by general manager Datuk V. Vijayaindiaran.

PENANG: The Penang Port Commission (PPC), under the leadership of its chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin, has won Transport Innovator of the Year at the Transport Excellence Awards (TXA Awards) 2026, marking a proud milestone in its efforts to advance Penang’s port and transport ecosystem.

Yeoh said the award recognised the collective dedication of PPC’s board, management, staff and strategic partners, and provided further encouragement to pursue improvements that benefit businesses, passengers and the wider community.

He expressed his special appreciation to Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook for his visionary leadership, initiatives and continued support, which have played an important role in advancing Penang Port’s development and contributed to this achievement.

“Under Loke’s leadership, the Transport Ministry’s commitment to modernising transport infrastructure, encouraging innovation and strengthening connectivity has provided valuable support for our progress. We will continue working closely with the Ministry to build on this success and deliver greater benefits to the people and the industry,” he said.

Yeoh emphasised that innovation must translate into tangible improvements in efficiency, safety, service delivery and environmental sustainability. PPC would continue encouraging digitalisation, strengthening governance and developing its people to support a modern and resilient port ecosystem.

“This award belongs to the entire team. From planning and coordination to daily implementation, every contribution matters. Our responsibility is to turn new ideas into practical improvements that strengthen Penang’s competitiveness as a gateway for trade and tourism,” he added.

He also thanked PPC’s board, management team and staff, Penang Port Sdn Bhd and all strategic partners for their cooperation and dedication, and expressed appreciation to the organisers of TXA Awards 2026 for the recognition.

“Winning Transport Innovator of the Year is both an honour and a responsibility. With the continued support of the Transport Ministry and our partners, we will pursue innovation and service excellence with renewed determination, creating lasting value for Penang and Malaysia,” he said.
