Night club manager arrested for drug dealing in Penampang

KOTA KINABALU: A night club manager has been arrested for suspected drug dealing in Penampang, near here.

The 39-year-old local businessman was found in possession of various drugs worth around RM48,000 during two raids on Friday (Jan 3) night.

Sabah Narcotics Crime Investigation chief Asst Comm Alhusin Halil said the suspect was nabbed at about 8.05pm at the Bundusan Commercial area.

“During the operation, the suspect had surrendered a plastic packet to police to inspect,” he said.

“Our personnel found that the packets contained ecstasy drugs of around 214.97 grams and suspected ketamine powder weighing about 113.22 grams,” he said.

ACP Alhusin said the first seizure was worth about RM22,000.

A subsequent raid at 10.30pm was conducted at a nearby apartment unit, where more illegal items including ecstasy, ketamine and cigarettes believed to be laced with drugs were found.

“This second seizure involved drugs worth around RM25,980,” he said, adding that two handphones and a bunch of keys were also confiscated to assist in investigations under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1953.

ACP Alhusin said follow-up investigations would include tracking down the main mastermind behind the drug dealing network.
