JOHOR BARU: Gleneagles Hospital Johor (GHJ) has officially launched its International Lounge for patients coming from abroad.
The facility was officiated by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, marking a new chapter in Gleneagles Johor’s long-standing relationship with patients from Indonesia.
The ceremony was witnessed by Johor state health department director Dr Mohtar Pungut, IHH Healthcare Malaysia chief executive officer Dr Kamal Amzan, GHJ deputy chief executive officer Sipika Singh and GHJ person-in-charge Dr Abdul Kadir Abu Bakar.
The International Lounge extends its hospitality by providing a welcoming waiting area, ensuring a pleasant experience for patients and their companions throughout their visit.
In Johor, its strong focus and market for medical tourism is among the Indonesians, since 2022, more than 20,000 Indonesian patients have received care at Gleneagles Hospital Johor. In 2025 alone, the hospital recorded a 66% increase in medical tourist arrivals, reflecting the growing confidence among Indonesian patients who see Johor as their preferred healthcare destination.
Together, these initiatives reflect GHJ’s role in supporting Malaysia’s medical tourism ecosystem while remaining focused on delivering patient-centred care for Indonesian patients.
