KEPALA BATAS: The PAS Tasek Gelugor youth wing has urged its central leadership to sever ties with Bersatu at all levels and review all appointments involving its members in states under Perikatan Nasional administration.
Its chief, Mohamad Ikhwan Mohamad Anwar, said the division's youth wing also called on the party to contest all parliamentary and state seats that Bersatu previously won under the Perikatan and PAS logos in future general and state elections.

"This is appropriate and fair following... acts of betrayal and backstabbing by Bersatu at both the federal level and in Perlis, where the party allegedly conspired to bring down former mentri besar Mohd Shukri Ramli," he said in a statement on Monday (Dec 29).
Ikhwan said Bersatu had clearly taken advantage of PAS' strength and sincerity, latching onto and exploiting the call to unify the ummah for its own interests and gain.
He said the wing feels it is time for PAS to be firm and bold enough to cut ties with Bersatu over its actions.

"This is not the first time. It has happened repeatedly, yet PAS has continued to show magnanimity in defending the larger agenda of unity of the umah," he said, adding that Bersatu has shown neither sincerity in nor appreciation for their friendship.
Ikhwan said it was clear that Bersatu only viewed PAS as a stepping stone to win elections and reap political gains.
Shukri stepped down from his post last week, citing health reasons.

It was reported earlier that at least eight of Perlis' 15 elected assemblymen – three from PAS and five from Bersatu – had submitted statutory declarations (SDs) withdrawing their support for his leadership.
PAS subsequently sacked its three assemblymen who were said to have signed the SDs.
Several of its leaders then called on Bersatu to similarly penalise its assemblymen over the issue.
On Sunday (Dec 28), Bersatu's Kuala Perlis assemblyman Abu Bakar Hamzah was appointed Mentri Besar.
