Three nabbed over house break-ins

MELAKA: Two brothers and a woman suspected of being involved in a series of house break-ins have been nabbed.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the arrests were made in two separate operations at antique dealer outlets within the historic city.

“The suspects comprise two brothers aged 33 and 29, as well as a 24-year-old woman believed to be the lover of one of the men,” he said.

“Checks revealed that the elder suspect has 20 prior records involving criminal and drug-related offences, while the other two suspects have no previous criminal records,” he added.

ACP Patit said all three were believed to be involved in 10 house break-in cases in the Melaka Tengah district.

All suspects have been remanded until Dec 29 to assist investigations under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking and theft.
