Sungkai-Slim River ETS route back in operation using single track

KUALA LUMPUR: The Electric Train Service (ETS) along the Sungkai-Slim River route, which was disrupted due to a fallen tree on Monday (Dec 22), has resumed normal operations using a single track starting at 6.32am on Tuesday (Dec 23), says Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB).

In a statement, KTMB said there were still residual delays affecting ETS services due to the implementation of single-track operations along the affected route.

KTMB said its technical team said were actively repairing the electrification system at the location to ensure full train operations can be safely and promptly restored.

"KTMB also apologises for any inconvenience experienced and appreciates the patience and cooperation of passengers throughout the disruption period.

"ETS passengers who choose not to continue their journey due to delays exceeding two hours are eligible for a full fare refund at ticket counters within seven days from the date of travel, subject to existing terms and conditions," the statement said.

Passengers who purchased the Premium Takaful Plan and experienced travel delays of up to or exceeding four hours may submit claims by contacting Etiqa Claim Assist or via email at support@goinsure.com.my.

Earlier, KTMB provided 12 buses to transfer passengers to Slim River Station for northbound journeys or Sungkai Station for southbound journeys before continuing their travel to destinations using the train service. – Bernama
