KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal’s contempt of court case relating to the ongoing Zara Qairina Mahathir inquest will be heard on Feb 3.
Sessions judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan made the order during case mention here on Thursday (Dec 18).
He ordered the prosecution to file its affidavit on or by Dec 26, to reply on or before Jan 9, and for submissions by both parties on or before Jan 19.

Shafie's presence in court today was dispensed with, although the judge urged his counsel to advise him to be present for future mentions and proceedings.
The Semporna MP's counsel, Chen Ket Chuin KC, Jakariya Ab Jalil and Batholomew Jingulam, informed the court that they had applied to strike out the committal proceedings on Dec 15.

Deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Mustaffa P. Kunyalan confirmed the matter.
Meanwhile, social media influencer Che Muna Din, who was alleged to have questioned a witness statement in the inquest through a Facebook post on Sept 4, pleaded guilty to the contempt charge.
She was fined RM300, in default 14 days' jail.
