A HOTEL cleaner was shocked upon seeing a room filled with trash that piled up like a “mountain” in Changchun, China.

Photos show the small space almost entirely buried with rubbish, covering the floor, tables, chairs and washbasin, according to Sin Chew Daily.

Beverage bottles, food packaging and takeaway containers were stacked layer upon layer, while long-term grime coated the floor of the e-sports hotel.

Hotel staff said the guest checked out on Dec 12 after staying there for more than two years.

He still owes 2,700 yuan (about RM1,565) in rent.

Cleaning staff spent three days clearing the trash and disinfecting the room.

Despite the extensive cleanup, significant damage remains, as the room requires renovation before it can be reused.

The hotel is currently in discussions with the individual to resolve the matter.

Netizens expressed disbelief after seeing the images, questioning how the guest was able to live in such conditions for so long.

> China Press reported that veteran mandopop singer-songwriter Eric Moo would perform some of his lesser-known songs during the Eric Moo 2026 Concert World Tour At Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands on Jan 24.

“I’ve been thinking about this for many years. I want to select obscure songs like Jie Jie Zhou De Na Ge Xia Wu (The Afternoon My Sister Left) and Zai Yi Ci Lian Ai (Falling in Love Again).

“I hope that one day I can return to Malaysia to do this concert, and only sing Tai Sha (Too Foolish) during the encore,” he said.

Moo rose to fame in the 1980s with hit songs such as Tai Sha, Ni Shi Wo De Wei Yi (You Are My Only One) and Xiang Zhe Ni De Gan Jue (The Feeling of Missing You).

Moo described himself as an “old CD” that got taken out and replayed every year.
