Cops urge witnesses to come forward after motorcyclist dies in Kuchai Lama crash


KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist was killed after a fatal accident along Jalan Kuchai Lama recently, with dashcam footage of the incident going viral on social media.

In a statement Monday (Dec 15), Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said that the accident occurred on Dec 8.

“Investigations showed that a collision occurred between a motorcycle ridden by a 25-year-old man and a car driven by a 38-year-old man when the car was making a turn. The collision led to serious head injuries and the victim was brought to the Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM),” he said, adding that the victim then succumbed to his injuries the next day.

He added that the car driver’s statement had been recorded and that a police report was also lodged by the driver.

A video of the accident has also been uploaded on TikTok, showing the car colliding into the motorcycle at speed.

He urged witnesses to come forward, including the owner of the dashcam footage, to assist police investigations.
