Welder crushed to death while repairing excavator bucket in Terengganu


KUALA NERUS: A welder has been crushed to death by a falling excavator bucket at a breakwater construction site in Pantai Kampung Tanjung, Batu Rakit, here.

Kuala Terengganu OCPD Asst Comm Azli Mohd Noor said the victim was identified as 54-year-old Mohd Rosli Awang from Kampung Alur Limbat, Marang.

He said the incident occurred at 9.48am while the victim was welding a joint to connect the excavator bucket.

"However, the steel bucket suddenly tipped over and hit the victim on his back.

His colleagues lifted it using the excavator and the unconscious victim, was rushed to the Batu Rakit Health Clinic where he was pronounced dead," he said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 11). – Bernama
