Microlight plane crashes, two injured


IPOH: Two men escaped serious harm after a microlight aircraft made an emergency landing in an open area near Tekah Airport in Taiping.

The incident occurred around 10.30am on Sunday, leading to the district police control centre receiving an alert through the NG MERSS 999 emergency system.

Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Nasir Ismail said the victims – a 46-year-old pilot and a 40-year-old trainee – were taken to Hospital Taiping for treatment.

“Both are in stable condition,” he said in a statement yesterday.

ACP Nasir said a police team was immediately deployed to the scene to monitor the situation and conduct an initial assessment.
