Microlight plane crashes in Taiping, two hurt


IPOH: Two people were injured after a microlight aircraft crashed at an open area near the Tekah Airport in Taiping on Sunday (Dec 7).

Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Nasir Ismail said the district control centre received an alert at about 10.30am through the NG MERSS 999 emergency system, reporting that a microlight aircraft had gone down.

“Following the alert, a police team from the district police headquarters was immediately deployed to the scene to conduct monitoring and an initial assessment.

"Continuous monitoring will be carried out, with updates to be shared with relevant agencies to ensure effective risk control and the safety of residents living nearby," he said in a statement on Monday (Dec 8).

He added that both victims were taken to Hospital Taiping for treatment.
