PETALING JAYA: MCA will continue to serve and work on the ground despite its two candidates losing in Karamunting and Tanjong Kapor in the Sabah state election, says party president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic).
He expressed his gratitude to those who voted for Barisan Nasional.
“Thank you to all voters for fulfilling your responsibility and voting for Barisan Nasional,” the MCA president said in a Facebook post on Saturday.
He also thanked members of the Barisan machinery, whom he described as having worked tirelessly through rain and heat to support their candidates without ever giving up.
“Although both MCA candidates, Datuk Chin Kim Hiung and Kevin Lee Sip Kim, who represented Barisan were not successful this time, our commitment to the rakyat remains unchanged.
“Defeat will not dampen our spirit nor weaken our resolve.
“We will continue working on the ground, listening to the people and serving the community with sincerity and perseverance.
“Public service does not end with an election and neither will our dedication to Sabah,” he added.
Dr Wee thanked all Election Commission officers, security forces, volunteers and others involved in the Sabah polls.
“Congratulations to the winners. May your leadership bring meaningful change to the people of Sabah,” he said.
