Sabah polls: STAR president Jeffrey Kitingan defends Tambunan seat


KOTA KINABALU: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (pic) has successfully defended the Tambunan seat in the 17th Sabah State Election.

Jeffrey, who has held the seat since 2018, retained the mandate after winning the seven-cornered contest with a majority of 7,311 votes.

According to the Election Commission (EC), Jeffery obtained 12,595 votes to defeat six other candidates, including those from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Parti Warisan and Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM).

Tambunan has 29,187 registered voters and is one of the three state seats under the Keningau parliamentary constituency. - Bernama
