Anwar granted audience with King, Johor Regent to discuss economic, development issues


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was on Saturday (Nov 29) granted an audience with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, to exchange views on the country's economic development and Johor's growth prospects.

He said that the audience, following the launch of the Maharani Freeport in Tanjung Emas, Muar, also touched on the need to continue safeguarding the balanced development among the states.

"I also shared the Madani Government's commitment to strengthening the country's competitiveness, so that every development initiative can provide actual spillover benefits that can be felt by the people in every corner of this country," Anwar posted on Facebook on Saturday.

Sultan Ibrahim on Saturday consented to officiate at the launch of the country's first duty-free energy freeport - the Maharani Freeport - located at the Maharani Energy Gateway (MEG) Complex in Tanjung Emas, Muar. – Bernama
