Two teenage girls killed in motorcycle crash with lorries

IPOH: A pair of female Form 3 students have died in an accident involving a motorcycle and two lorries on Jalan Kuala Kangsar near Tasek, here, on Friday (Nov 28) afternoon.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said that during the 12.57pm incident, the two students, Nur Aleesya Alya Mohd Hasrizal and Nur Alisa Maisara Aidil Azhar, both aged 15, were riding a motorcycle from Klebang towards Ipoh.

"When they arrived at the scene, the motorcycle ridden by the victims lost control, causing both of them to fall onto the road surface in the adjacent lane.

"At the same time, a lorry travelling in the same direction in that lane could not avoid them, and subsequently ran over both victims who were on the road. The motorcycle that the victims were riding on skidded and became wedged underneath another lorry that stopped in the right lane," he said in a statement.

Abang Zainal stated that as a result of the injuries sustained, the victims died at the scene, while the drivers of both lorries did not suffer any injuries.

He added that the bodies of the victims were later sent to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh for a post-mortem examination. - Bernama
