SarawakPass to be integrated with MyDigital ID for seamless digital identity

KUCHING: Sarawak's digital identity application, SarawakPass, will be integrated with the national MyDigital ID system for a seamless digital identification ecosystem.

The state government signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Friday (Nov 28) with the federal government through the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa) to collaborate on the integration.

State Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi said the MOU marked an important milestone in developing a secure, trusted and integrated national digital identity ecosystem.

"We have formalised a strategic collaboration with the federal government, represented by Nacsa, to integrate SarawakPass with MyDigital ID," he told reporters after the signing ceremony at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly complex.

Sarawak state secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki signed for the state government while Nacsa was represented by its chief executive Megat Zulhairy Megat Tajuddin. The signing was witnessed by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg.

According to a media release, the integration will enable SarawakPass users to access online services requiring MyDigital ID verification, while MyDigital ID users will be able to access SarawakPass services.

The integrated SarawakPass-MyDigital ID is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2026.
