Police seek witnesses to hit-and-run incident on Penang Bridge


GEORGE TOWN: Police are appealing to the public who witnessed or have information about a hit-and-run accident on the Penang Bridge on Friday morning (Nov 28) to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Northeast district police chief ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the 6.30am incident occurred near the bridge exit heading towards Perai involving a foreign man without identification documents.

He said the victim was suspected to have been hit by a vehicle and was confirmed dead at the scene.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident are urged to contact the traffic investigating officer at the Northeast district police headquarters, Inspector Irwandy Hamled, at 013-5155656 to assist with the investigation. – Bernama
