DATUK Fan Bingbing ate three large mitten crabs to celebrate her success after winning Best Leading Actress at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards, Sin Chew Daily reported.
The 44-year-old Chinese actress, who clinched Best Supporting Actress back in 2007, finally received the award she yearned for her role in Mother Bhumi, a film by Malaysian director Chong Keat Aun. Chong accepted the award on her behalf at the awards ceremony in Taipei on Saturday.
On Sunday, Fan in a Weibo post said that she had just finished replying to some 600 well-wishers and ate three large mitten crabs in celebration.
“At this moment, I feel happy and a little bit stunned,” she said.
Fan was nominated but failed to win Best Leading Actress in 2016 for her role in I Am Not Madame Bovary.
Fan said she hoped to get a second chance at the award by starring in Mother Bhumi, in her role as a widowed farmer who uses black magic to help her community in Kedah.
She is best known for her roles in the comedy-drama Cell Phone (2003) and as the mutant Blink in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).
