KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s family entertainment landscape has reached a new milestone with the official launch of HarborLand Malaysia, the country’s largest indoor playground, located at KLGCC Mall, Bukit Kiara.
Spanning approximately 25,000 sq ft with a 30-foot ceiling height, HarborLand Malaysia offers a bright, spacious play environment filled with natural sunlight and overlooking the scenic KLGCC golf course.
The new attraction marks the first international expansion of Thailand’s renowned HarborLand Group, introduced to Malaysia by Playtopia World Sdn Bhd.
The launch ceremony was officiated by a distinguished group of VIPs, including Jane Leong, chief executive officer of HarborLand Malaysia, Anan Pikultipsakorn, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, Prakarn Nokhong, chief executive officer of HarborLand Thailand, Lukrak Vasudhara, chief financial officer of HarborLand Thailand, Tancy Lau, operations general manager of HarborLand Malaysia and Sime Darby Property’s senior management, Betty Lau Sui Hing, group chief financial officer and Aurelia Lee, chief operating officer of investment and asset management. Their presence underscored a shared commitment to creating a high-quality, family-centred destination in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
HarborLand Malaysia brings the world-class standards and family-friendly philosophy of Thailand’s leading indoor playground operator to local audiences. The collaboration combines HarborLand Group’s expertise in safe, creative play design with a Malaysian operator’s deep understanding of local family lifestyles.
“Malaysia’s hot weather can limit outdoor playtime for children during the day. Our focus is on creating a space where children can play comfortably and freely while parents feel completely confident about safety and cleanliness,” said Leong.
“We are proud to bring HarborLand’s trusted brand of family play to Malaysia and to redefine indoor entertainment through creativity, education and safe play.”
“We are pleased to be invited to the grand opening of HarborLand Malaysia, the first international branch of HarborLand Thailand’s indoor playground. This milestone not only highlights the creative economy partnership and the dynamic business-to-business cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia, but also offers experiences of fun of HarborLand Thailand.” said Anan.
Every play element at HarborLand Malaysia is meticulously researched and designed to nurture children’s development across cognitive (IQ), emotional (EQ), social (SQ) and executive function (EF) skills – all through the power of play.
HarborLand Malaysia offers an immersive play experience across multiple themed zones for children of all ages. HarborTown lets kids aged five and above explore a miniature city through role-play, while Little Ville and ToyLand provide toddlers with safe, educational fun. Older children can take on thrilling challenges at Mainplay and Kid’s Island, featuring slides, trampolines, ziplines, as well as cannon ball arenas, while the Arts and Crafts Corner sparks creativity through hands-on activities.
The playground boasts 44 attractions, including standout rides such as the Volcano, Drop Slide, Valo Jump, and Zipline, blending physical activity with interactive digital play. Every element is designed to inspire confidence, imagination, and joy within a safe, supervised environment.
Safety is the cornerstone of HarborLand’s operations. The playground complies with world-class standards, including the European EN 1176 and EN 1177 standards, as well as U.S. ASTM standard.
“HarborLand believes every child deserves a place where joy, imagination and safety come together,” said Prakarn. “My sons inspired this journey. Their laughter, curiosity and fearless sense of adventure have shaped every step we take. HarborLand is my promise to families — a space where children can play freely and parents can relax knowing their little ones are safe, happy, and cared for from the moment they walk in.”
According to Aurelia Lee, chief operating officer of Sime Darby Property (investment and asset management), HarborLand Malaysia adds significant vibrancy to the KLGCC Mall ecosystem.
“We are delighted to welcome HarborLand Malaysia to KLGCC Mall as a major family attraction.
“Its arrival complements our vision of developing integrated spaces where people can live, shop, dine and play within one environment. Having Malaysia’s biggest indoor playground here reinforces the mall’s position as a premier destination for families,” she said.
To celebrate its grand opening, HarborLand Malaysia is offering buy five kid tickets at RM400 and get five parent tickets free, valid until Nov 30.
Visitors can also join the “Play, Post and Win” social media contest running until Nov 30, with family trips and prizes worth RM11,840 up for grabs.
